Michael Giersig completed his PhD in 1988 at the Deptment of Chemistry of the Freie University Berlin and absolved his habilitation at the University of Potsdam in 1999. He is currently Professor in the Department of Physics at the Freie University in Berlin and at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materiallien und Energie GmbH. Giersig has published over 260 internationally refereed publications covering physics, chemistry, materials science, biochemistry, medicine, nanotechnology and engineering. His work has been cited 18705 times, quoted in the ISI Index (without self-citations) at an average of over “72,9” citations per publication, while his h-index is currently “72”. In the World Ranking by Thomson Reuters of the 100 Top Chemists and Material Scientists of the past decade 2000-2010, Giersig is listed in position 75 in chemistry and 83 in material science.

Robert Brandt had completed his PhD from RWTH Aachen in 2001. He started his professional career at MUBEA Suspension Springs, Attendorn, a worldwide leading automotive supplier, and became the head of the research and development department. In 2013 he has been appointed as a professor for the endowed chair of materials systems for automotive lightweight design at the University of Siegen. His key topics are lightweight design by means of metals, i.e. high strengths steels and light metals, tailored properties of materials, and fiber reinforced plastics as well as compounded materials, respectively.

Dr. Afzal Subhani is currently member of Management Board of CAT Catalytic Center, RWTH Aachen University, Aachen Germany and responsible for operational management. Yuri S. Kivshar received PhD in 1984 in the Ukraine. After working at several research centers in the US and Europe he moved to Australia in 1993 where he established Nonlinear Physics Center. Kivshar’s research interests include nonlinear photonics, optical solitons, metamaterials, and nanophotonics. He is Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science, OSA, APS, and IOP. Professor Luísa M.D.R.S. Martins got her Chemical Engineering degree (1990), Ph.D. (1996) and Habilitation (2015) from IST, University of Lisbon. She is Researcher at Centro de Química Estrutural (Coordination Chemistry and Catalysis Group) of IST and member of the Research Core Team and Executive Committee of PhD programme - Catalysis and Sustainability. Jinn P. Chu is a Distinguished Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. He holds a Ph.D. from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1992. He was appointed to the Dean of Office of Research and Development by the university in 2015. His research interests focus on sputter-deposited thin film metallic glasses (TFMGs) for various applications. Mehdi Saniei is a senior Ph.D. candidate at the University of Toronto in Mechanical Engineering. His current research has focused on the fabrication of ultra lightweight nanocellular foams, multi-functional polymer composites, and injection molding of microcellular polymers. He has received various prestigious awards in North America, and has been author and co-author of 20+ refereed publications. He fulfilled his M.Sc. in metal forming on the cold rolling of strip steels and the mixed film lubrication at Isfahan University of Technology

Dr. Rahul Mane is presently working as Assistant Professor in Department of Industrial Chemistry, Shivaji University, Kolhapur, India. He has received a doctorate in material science from Shivaji University, Kolhapur. He has published more than 54 research papers in, International Journals and 75 papers in International, National Proceedings of the Conferences. He has awarded with Departmental Research Fellowship (2006), UGC Meritorious Scholarship (2008) from Shivaji University, Kolhapur and Young Scientist Fellow by DST 2012 (Government of India). At the outset, Ministry of Science and Technology (DST-SERB,India) sanctioning Major research project under Fast Track scheme for Young Scientist. He has also published 01book & 07 book chapters. He is Reviewers of 46 Journals. He is served on the Editorial, Associate Editor & Advisory Board member for 15 journals. He is also served on a Member of Organizing Committee, Technical Programe Committee and Scientific Advisory Board for Several International conferences. He is Member of several material science societies.

Ali Omar has PhD studinet and recived his Bscfrom Fuclty of Science chemistry department Al-Azhar University, Egypt and awarded his MSc from Helwn University. He have a big interest and passion in Materials preparation and applications. He have published many papers in several international journals such as physical chemistry chemical physics, RSC Advances, Materials and Design , materials science materials in electronics, Magnetism and Magnetic Materials. Also He have experienced in synthesis of materials with different wet chemicals routes and characterization of the final samples products with different instrumentation. Ali Omar is a member of Electronic Materials Division. He was previously awarded a scientific mission to European Institute of Membranes funded from French Culture Institute and French embassy at Cairo..

Oras A. Al-Ani received the B.Sc and M.Sc degrees in Laser and Optoelectronic Engineering from Al-Nahreen University, Iraq, in 2000 and 2002, respectively. Mrs Al-Ani was working as a Lecturer at the College of Electrical and Electronic Techniques Engineering, Baghdad, Iraq, since 2005. She is currently studying towards the Ph.D. degree within the Emerging Technologies and Material (ETM) group, School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Newcastle University, Newcastle Upon Tyne, U.K. Oras’ research focuses on computational and theoretical analysis of the point and extended defects in multicrystalline silicon and their impact on photovoltaic devices. She is officially represented Newcastle University students at the NUS National Conference (19-21 April 2016 in Brighton) as elected self-defining woman delegate. Oras is a student member of IEEE, member of IET and Al-Kindi Society for Engineers; and awarded several awards for the best paper and presentation. Oras served as the Event Coordinator for the Annual Research Conference (ARC2016) at Newcastle University and she currently acts as the School Representative of research student’s in Newcastle University. In addition, she is recently appointed as a committee member of The International Conference on Applied Engineering, Newcastle University and the Student Ambassador for Materials Congress 2016.

Ioana Luciu studied Physics at the University of Bucharest in Romania. She obtained her PhD degree from University of Trento - Italy in 2012. Her experimental work during her PhD thesis was performed at the research institute Fondazione Bruno Kessler in Trento. She worked as a researcher in Romania, at National Institute for Lasers, Plasma and Radiation Physics - Bucharest and as a postdoctoral researcher at Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology.
