Yongmei Zheng Ph. D., a professor at School of Chemistry and Environment, Key Laboratory of Bio-inspired Smart Interfacial Science and Technology of Ministry of Education, Beihang University. As senior member of Chinese Composite Materials Society (CSCM); members of Chinese Chemistry Society (CCS); American Chemistry Society (ACS); International Society of Bionic Engineering (ISBE), in 2016, honored as an ISBE Outstanding Contribution Award by ISBE. Invited as lead Guest Edit for Special Issues “Bioinspired Functional Materials†on Journal of Nanomaterials, in Hindawi Publishing Corporation; as reviewers for ACS, RSC, Wiley publications. Research interests are focused on materials of bioinspired surfaces with gradient micro- and nanostructures to be fabricated by interdisciplinary methods of physical, chemical, and nanotechnology, to develop the functional surface materials with characteristics of water repellency, anti-icing, anti-frosting, or fog-harvesting, tiny droplet transport, etc. Publications are included in Nature, Adv. Mater., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., ACS Nano, Adv. Funct. Mater., Small, J. Mater. Chem. A, Chem. Commun., Nanoscales, ACS Appl. Mater. Interface, etc., ca. 90 numbers with 12 Cover stories, highlighted by Nature news, RSC ChemistryWorld, etc., cited by publications of Nature, Nat. Mater., Science, etc. She has a book “bioinspired wettability surfaces: Development in micro- and nanostructuresâ€.
