Michael Giersig completed his PhD in 1988 at the Deptment of Chemistry of the Freie University Berlin and absolved his habilitation at the University of Potsdam in 1999. He is currently Professor in the Department of Physics at the Freie University in Berlin and at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materiallien und Energie GmbH. Giersig has published over 260 internationally refereed publications covering physics, chemistry, materials science, biochemistry, medicine, nanotechnology and engineering. His work has been cited 18705 times, quoted in the ISI Index (without self-citations) at an average of over “72,9” citations per publication, while his h-index is currently “72”. In the World Ranking by Thomson Reuters of the 100 Top Chemists and Material Scientists of the past decade 2000-2010, Giersig is listed in position 75 in chemistry and 83 in material science.

Robert Brandt had completed his PhD from RWTH Aachen in 2001. He started his professional career at MUBEA Suspension Springs, Attendorn, a worldwide leading automotive supplier, and became the head of the research and development department. In 2013 he has been appointed as a professor for the endowed chair of materials systems for automotive lightweight design at the University of Siegen. His key topics are lightweight design by means of metals, i.e. high strengths steels and light metals, tailored properties of materials, and fiber reinforced plastics as well as compounded materials, respectively.

Prof. Pérez Trujillo is full Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain). He has Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Chemistry, Materials Science and Nuclear Engineering with Honors and the Ph.D. In Chemistry with national prize. He has different periods in foreign Universities as Visiting Scholar and Visiting Professor at University of California at Los Angeles (USA), University of Southern California (USA), Stanford University (USA) and University of Toronto (Canada) Prof. Perez is Director of the Surface Engineering Laboratory at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid since 2000. His research activities are focused in the Area of high temperature Surface engineering for metallic materials in the area of coatings and oxidation aspects, and from experimental to computational approaches. One of his main research activities at the present time are in the field of high temperature corrosion of Nano-structured materials and coatings for energy applications. Pr. Luc Avérous is a Group Leader, Head of Polymer Research Department at ICPEES (CNRS - University of Strasbourg, France), and former Lab Director. In1995, he obtained his PhD in Polymer Science & Engineering. In 2003, he became a Full Professor at ECPM (University of Strasbourg). During the last two decades, his major research projects have dealt with biobased and/or biodegradable polymers for environmental & biomedical applications. He has co-edited 4 books. Reza Ektesabi, honored his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Hiroshima in Japan in 1986. He began his combined academic researches, industrial fabrications and know how generating technology professions in multi-disciplinary Bio-Nano engineering materials innovation field. During a long career that spanned three decades he had a tremendous impact on his research and industrial fabrication teams. He has a successful venture outcome in materials applied researches of high technology industries. His recent researches are linked with titanium foam structure materials applicable in bio-medical sectors as a compatible material fabrication, replacing as artificial human bones and implants which are bringing a paradigm shift for orthopedic clinical surgery. Also he achieved several manufacturing processes of this light weight and high temperature stand material for aerospace parts. In addition, he is CEO of the Canadian Nano Society, a non for profit advanced scientific nano-materials and nano-technology networking information center for providing a supportive growth environment, coaching and mentoring of researchers and entrepreneurs within Canada and beyond.

Professor Lu has over 29 years of teaching and research experience in chemical engineering and nanotechnology, working closely with industries. He has published over 500 peer-reviewed articles which have attracted over 38,000 citations (h-index of 101). He is Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Scientist in both Chemistry and Materials Science as listed in the World's Most Influential Scientific Minds (2014, 2015). Several of his 20 international patents on novel materials have been licensed or being commercialised for energy and environmental applications. Professor Lu is an effective university senior executive with passion, vision and strategy for teaching and research excellence, and industry collaboration. He has extensive experience in managing large research centres, institutes and high-performing administrative teams, and has outstanding track record in enhancing institutional reputation and performance in research and innovation. He also has wide experience in serving as director on boards, advisory board and high-level committees associated with both government and public sector organisations. He was the inaugural Provost of the Univeristy of Queensland with responsibilities for strategic planning, budget and line management of all faculties and institutes. Jakob Kübarsepp has completed his PhD at the age of 32 from Moscow University of Fine Chemical Technology. Hikmat S. Hilal is a distiguished Professor of inorganic chemistry and materials at An-Najah N. University, Palestine. He has completed his PhD from the University of Manchester, UK, in Chemistry in 1980. He chairs the Center of Excellence in Materials Science and Nanotechnology (CEMSANT) in Palestine. He has published more than 100 works (articles, book chapters, monographs and conference proceedings), with special focus on stability and conversion efficiency of thin film eletodes in photoelectrochemical processes.

Dr. Afzal Subhani is currently member of Management Board of CAT Catalytic Center, RWTH Aachen University, Aachen Germany and responsible for operational management. He holds a Ph.D degree in chemistry from Technical University of Dortmund. He served as Assistant Professor from 09.2008 till 07.2010 at National University of Science and Technology (NUST) Islamabad Pakistan. In 2010 he returned to Germany and was awarded with Georg Forster Research Fellowship by Alexander Humboldt foundation for his post-doctoral research at CAT Catalytic Center. He has expertise in heterogeneous and homogenous catalysis, polymer and materials chemistry and high pressure chemistry. He has published his research work in several peer-reviewed journals.

Since Oct. 2012, Said is a Research Director at Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI), a Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU)_ Qatar Foundation (QF) Institute. He was in charge of planning and equipping research infrastructure at HBKU’s Research Center (RC). Prior to joining QF, Said worked from 01/ 2000- 10/2012 as a senior research scientist and Manager of JDS Uniphase’s Materials Characterization Laboratory (JDS Uniphase is a telecommunication public company developing and manufacturing internet communication components, lasers, custom optics, currency anti-counterfeiting pigment and testing equipment for the network). Prior to joining JDSU, Said taught at the School of Materials Engineering at Purdue University, USA. At the same time, He was the Director of the Turner Laboratory for Electro-ceramics and later became the Director of Purdue’s Microstructural Analysis Facilities. Said also worked as visiting Research Scientist at the General Motors R&D Center, Warren, MI. Before returning to the US in 1990, Said worked as section head at the Central Lab at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, Kuwait (01/1984- 08/1990) and as a researcher at the Materials Characterization Lab at the University of Petroleum and Minerals (UPM) Research Institute, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia (04/86- 09/86)

In addition to building research infrastructure facilities and managing research laboratories, Said’s research interest and experience are in thin film deposition and characterization, failure analysis, semiconductors, perovskite ferroelectric memories, lithography, oxide composites for EM attenuation, powder ceramics, sintering and rapid thermal processes, microscopy and microanalysis, x-ray analysis, surface analysis, RBS, thermal analysis, spectroscopy and other.

Yuri S. Kivshar received PhD in 1984 in the Ukraine. After working at several research centers in the US and Europe he moved to Australia in 1993 where he established Nonlinear Physics Center. Kivshar’s research interests include nonlinear photonics, optical solitons, metamaterials, and nanophotonics. He is Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science, OSA, APS, and IOP. He received many awards including the Pnevmatikos Prize in Nonlinear Science (Greece), Lyle Medal (Australia), State Prize in Science and Technology (Ukraine), and Harrie Massey Medal (UK).

Professor Luísa M.D.R.S. Martins got her Chemical Engineering degree (1990), Ph.D. (1996) and Habilitation (2015) from IST, University of Lisbon. She is Researcher at Centro de Química Estrutural (Coordination Chemistry and Catalysis Group) of IST and member of the Research Core Team and Executive Committee of PhD programme - Catalysis and Sustainability. She is (1996) Adjunct Professor at the Chemical Engineering Department of ISEL, Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon and Vice-President of the said Department. She has authored more than 100 manuscripts, 12 patents and supervised 12 PhD and 14 Master students. She is also President of the Portuguese Electrochemical Society.

Amer is a Chess Champion, 1986-1990 in Kuwait., she lead many student activities and was awarded "Best Leader for Student Activity Award", 2006 at Benha University. And, she was named as a best leader on 2002 by the Egyptian national “Institute for Leadership Development”. She received her training on Control and Instrumentation in Electrical Engineering (B.Sc. 1995), Electrical Power Engineering (M.Sc., 1999) and PhD. degree in Electrical Power Engineering from faculty of engineering, Cairo University, 2002. She served as a lecturer (1996 till present), a head of department (2007-2010 and 2013 till present) and an S&T Advisor (2008-2010). On her academic career, she served as member of scientific committees, chairman and editor of many regional and international scientific conferences. Beside, being an editor of two international journals on her field of specialty. She received "Best Research Paper Award" CATAEE Conference, Jordan, 2004. She is an active member of the main committee of the Egyptian Engineering Syndicate. Her present research interests are the protection system, power system, high voltage engineering, effect of EMF of high voltage transmission lines, and biomedical engineering

Jinn P. Chu is a Distinguished Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. He holds a Ph.D. from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1992. He was appointed to the Dean of Office of Research and Development by the university in 2015. His research interests focus on sputter-deposited thin film metallic glasses (TFMGs) for various applications. He has over 160 articles in refereed journals, 22 patents, 3 review articles, 1 special issue in TFMG. He is an Editorial Board Member for the Elsevier journal Thin Solid Films.

Virginie M. Boucher is currently Materials Expert at Megatech Industries (Spain). After defending her PhD thesis in materials science at the University of Lille-Nord de France, in 2008, she moved to DIPC (Spain) to study the behaviour of glassy nanostructured polymers, in terms of dynamics and physical aging. Her research activities led to the publication of 18 articles in reputed journals and to two international patents. Subsequently, she joined SOGEFI Group (France), as Composites Laboratory Manager, to take part in the development of automotive composite suspension components. Her current R&D activities, within Megatech Industries, deal with lightweight plastic materials

In June 2009 she accepted a University Position at the Institute of Sensor and Actuator Systems, Vienna University of Technology where she developed a novel, independent research line, funded by the Austrian Science Fund and the City of Vienna focusing on i) biomedical applications of magnetic nanomaterials and microsensors and ii) applications of microfluidic devices in life sciences and biomedicine. From March 2016 until August 2016 she was the Head of the Center for Chemical Polymer Technology at the DWI-Leibniz Institute for Interactive Materials in Aachen, Germany. She is currently a Habilitation Candidate at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), Austria. Parallel to her research activity, Dr. Giouroudi is teaching several undergraduate (BSc) and graduate (MSc) courses and is supervising MSc and PhD students.

Mohabattul Zaman Bukhari is Professor of Materials Engineering from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP). He is presently the Director/Head of Cluster (Healthcare) of The Industry Centre of Excellence (ICoE) which was introduced by The Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MoHE) with the objectives of empowering and inspiring relationship between IHLs and industries in realizing their existence objectives. This will helps them to develop intellectual capital according to their respective needs/requirements and increase their effort in the areas of research, development and commercialization. Yongmei Zheng Ph. D., a professor at School of Chemistry and Environment, Key Laboratory of Bio-inspired Smart Interfacial Science and Technology of Ministry of Education, Beihang University. As senior member of Chinese Composite Materials Society (CSCM); members of Chinese Chemistry Society (CCS); American Chemistry Society (ACS); International Society of Bionic Engineering (ISBE), in 2016, honored as an ISBE Outstanding Contribution Award by ISBE. Han-Taw Chen has completed his PhD degree for 29 years from National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan. I am is an distinguished professor of Mechanical Engineering. I majored in heat transfer and fluid mechanics. I have published more than 79 papers in SCI journals since 1986. The number of Web Science citations is higher than 1145. The h-index for my articles is 21. Google Scholar Citations are higher than 2003, the h-index is 26, and the i10-index is 57. I obtained a certificate of reviewing awarded by Applied Thermal Engineering in 2016. I was awarded the "Distinguished Professor of Engineering" by the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society in 2016.

Prof. Shlomo Berger has completed his PhD at the age of 31 years from the Technion Institute of Technology, Israel. He completed one year of postdoctoral term at the Harverd University, USA. Since then, he is a faculty member in the faculty of materials science and engineering, Technion, Israel. He is the head of the group of dielectric materials in the faculty of materials science and engineering, Technion. His group studies how to control the crystallographic orientation of dielectric nanocrystals in order to obtain optimal detection sensitivity based on piezoelectric and pyroelectric properties. He published more than 60 scientific papers in reviewed journals, presented invited talks in many scientific conferences and edited special issues.

Prof. Dr. Zizi Abdeen has completed her PhD in Chemistry, Ain Shams University, Egypt and postdoctoral studies at Department of Petrochemicals, Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute, Egypt. She has published more than 27 papers in reputed journals and has been serving as an editorial board member of repute in more than 23 journals.

Teresa Monteiro is an Associated Professor with Aggregation at the Physics Department of University of Aveiro and a Full Member of i3N- Institute for Nanostructures, Nanomodelling and Nanofabrication. Her main area of research is related with the optical characterization of wide band gap materials (undoped and intentionally doped with different elements, lanthanides and transition metal ions), including nitrides and oxides from bulk to low dimensional structures. In this research field she has published more than 200 scientific papers in peer reviewed journals of the speciality and participated in dozens of international conferences, both as oral and poster contributions. She supervised and co-supervised 22 post-graduate and 18 graduate students’ dissertations. She has also participated in several jury Academic Degrees (in Portugal and abroad). Barbara Bonelli (1972) holds a PhD in Chemical Science from the University of Torino (Italy) and a Master Degree in Industrial Chemistry from the same Institution (magna cum laude). Dr. Ali Sabea Hammood earned his B.Sc.,M.Sc. and Ph.D. from University of Technology in Production and Metallurgy Engineering-Metallurgy Engineering. He was Head of Materials Engineering Department from 2007 to 2014.

Mehdi Saniei is a senior Ph.D. candidate at the University of Toronto in Mechanical Engineering. His current research has focused on the fabrication of ultra lightweight nanocellular foams, multi-functional polymer composites, and injection molding of microcellular polymers. He has received various prestigious awards in North America, and has been author and co-author of 20+ refereed publications. He fulfilled his M.Sc. in metal forming on the cold rolling of strip steels and the mixed film lubrication at Isfahan University of Technology

Dr. Rahul Mane is presently working as Assistant Professor in Department of Industrial Chemistry, Shivaji University, Kolhapur, India. He has received a doctorate in material science from Shivaji University, Kolhapur. He has published more than 54 research papers in, International Journals and 75 papers in International, National Proceedings of the Conferences. He has awarded with Departmental Research Fellowship (2006), UGC Meritorious Scholarship (2008) from Shivaji University, Kolhapur and Young Scientist Fellow by DST 2012 (Government of India). At the outset, Ministry of Science and Technology (DST-SERB,India) sanctioning Major research project under Fast Track scheme for Young Scientist. He has also published 01book & 07 book chapters. He is Reviewers of 46 Journals. He is served on the Editorial, Associate Editor & Advisory Board member for 15 journals. He is also served on a Member of Organizing Committee, Technical Programe Committee and Scientific Advisory Board for Several International conferences. He is Member of several material science societies.

He have a big interest and passion in Materials preparation and applications. He have published many papers in several international journals such as physical chemistry chemical physics, RSC Advances, Materials and Design , materials science materials in electronics, Magnetism and Magnetic Materials. Also He have experienced in synthesis of materials with different wet chemicals routes and characterization of the final samples products with different instrumentation. Ali Omar is a member of Electronic Materials Division. He was previously awarded a scientific mission to European Institute of Membranes funded from French Culture Institute and French embassy at Cairo..

Oras A. Al-Ani received the B.Sc and M.Sc degrees in Laser and Optoelectronic Engineering from Al-Nahreen University, Iraq, in 2000 and 2002, respectively. Mrs Al-Ani was working as a Lecturer at the College of Electrical and Electronic Techniques Engineering, Baghdad, Iraq, since 2005. She is currently studying towards the Ph.D. degree within the Emerging Technologies and Material (ETM) group, School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Newcastle University, Newcastle Upon Tyne, U.K. Oras’ research focuses on computational and theoretical analysis of the point and extended defects in multicrystalline silicon and their impact on photovoltaic devices. She is officially represented Newcastle University students at the NUS National Conference (19-21 April 2016 in Brighton) as elected self-defining woman delegate. Oras is a student member of IEEE, member of IET and Al-Kindi Society for Engineers; and awarded several awards for the best paper and presentation. Oras served as the Event Coordinator for the Annual Research Conference (ARC2016) at Newcastle University and she currently acts as the School Representative of research student’s in Newcastle University. In addition, she is recently appointed as a committee member of The International Conference on Applied Engineering, Newcastle University and the Student Ambassador for Materials Congress 2016.

Ioana Luciu studied Physics at the University of Bucharest in Romania. She obtained her PhD degree from University of Trento - Italy in 2012. Her experimental work during her PhD thesis was performed at the research institute Fondazione Bruno Kessler in Trento. She worked as a researcher in Romania, at National Institute for Lasers, Plasma and Radiation Physics - Bucharest and as a postdoctoral researcher at Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology.
